Today's presentation, “The Opioid Crisis and What You Can Do”, will provide an overview of the opioid crisis including national, state and local data, and the underlying contributors to the crisis. The cycle of opioid addiction and the drugs in this category will be discussed. Participants will be able to identify relevant actions in prevention, treatment, emergency response, and safety. Each person will be able to identify something they can do to help address the issue.

 
Jacquelyn Preston, MA, CPS is a Community Prevention Educator/Compliance Specialist with Pathways Behavioral Services, Inc. Jackie has a BA in Family Services and Community Health and a Masters Degree in Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a Certified Prevention Specialist and works as a Community Prevention Educator and Compliance Specialist at Pathways Behavioral Services. Jackie serves on or coordinates several coalitions including: Blue Zones/Healthy Home Town, Together For Youth, Bremer County Community Partners, Substance Abuse Prevention, CRUSH Professional and Community Coalition, CRUSH State-wide Steering, and AC4C both at large and the Rx task team.
