In June the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced it would donate up to $50 million a year for three years to match Rotary gifts. That means if The Rotary Foundation reaches the $25 million goal for three years, it will bring in $225 million.

The Gates Foundation’s effort started in 2007 and could exceed $1 billion.
